Fibre-East 2015 – Part 1 – What we did…

It’s July! It’s Fibre-East!
Practically the entire guild took a trip across to Ampthill to demonstrate their skills, encourage others to “Have A Go!” and most importantly sample the shopping opportunities over the Fibre-East weekend.
The Saturday crew were lucky with the weather, the Sunday people less so, not that it dampened their spirits! Luckily all of Fibre-East is undercover, just some dashing between marquees and buildings to keep purchases dry.
Spinning wheels at the ready:
Alongside the spinning we also demonstrated peg loom and rigid heddle weaving:
We had some splendid examples of our work on the stall:
Including the black squirrel, well we do meet in Letchworth.
Everyone came home with bags of shopping. Part 2 will cover some of the lovely things we saw.
